What is a Geodesic Dome?
Geodesic Domes, also known as Geodesic Structures, are tents with a multitude of applications.
From housing solutions, such as Glamping Domes, to the most popular application, the use of Geodesic Domes as unique spaces for events.
In the events market, this type of tents have had a great acceptance thanks to the versatility and uses that can be obtained with geodesic structures, large use space with the smallest number of materials forming a safe and reliable space.
The versatility of the domes and the diaphanous surface inside, allow all types of configurations for any type of event, being also possible to combine different units to obtain larger exhibition spaces.
Geodesic Domes or Geodesic Tents are structures designed from Platonic solids, especially from the Icosahedron, which gives this type of structure a unique resistance.
They are structures of great performance and of great harmonic space given the absence of columns or pillars.
Popularized by R. Buckminster Fuller in the decade of the 40’s of the XX Century, to whom his invention is erroneously attributed, Fuller made popular these structures and attributed to them the concept of “Geodesic” and patent them.
