Is in the USA where the company found a great market niche that has made them become the main manufacturer worldwide, opening a factory in Poland a few years ago to try to compete with Polish manufacturers, differentiating themselves from them in the quality of their products.

They were the ones who devised, together with Obscura Digital, the Negative Pressure video liner system, which was later copied by some of the Polish companies.

As it´s normal with a company with more than 40 years of history, their portfolio and customer base is simply a carousel of large corporations and institutions and events of all sizes over these 40+ years.

Dome Guys:

In the USA everything is big and big events need big tents, and this is where companies like Dome Guys overshadow their main competitor, Pacific Domes.

We have been in contact with them for a joint project in which one of their domes, 35m in diameter and 1000m2 in area, could have a place, and from the first moment we have found them to be a collaborative and very professional company.

Based on the west coast of the USA, the portfolio of events carried out by Dome Guys shows mostly events held in large geodesic domes as well as some inflatable domes also of considerable dimensions.

Natural Spaces Domes:

The pioneers in using geodesic domes as dwellings are the Americans, and the main supplier of this type of wooden constructions that we have found in the USA are Natural Spaces Domes.

The constructive style of the American dome houses differs quite a lot from the European style, since here in Europe they are more of a housing solution, almost always oriented to the tourist sector, in the USA, the constructive system is centred on a type of constructions like permanent houses of great size.

Zendome:

Zendome is a startup created in 2005 that over the years has grown exponentially to become one of the leading suppliers of geodesic domes in Germany.

Although it is not always easy having multiple companies as competition in the neighbouring country, Poland, Zendome was able to differentiate itself by offering quality products to its customers to compete with low cost Polish products.

Yakone:

Yakone is a company based in Potsdam. They develop, rent and sell wooden geodesic domes.

The use of environmentally friendly materials is one of their hallmarks and their domes range in size from 5 to 14m in diameter.

Poland

Pacific Domes Europe:

We can consider Pacific Domes Europe as the little brother of the USA giant.

In Europe, Pacific Domes has opted for the construction of small and medium sized geodesic domes, oriented towards housing solutions, not entering the market of geodesic domes for events, which is already somewhat saturated in Europe.

Their solution is simple, to maintain the quality criteria that have accompanied the company over the years and use the same materials for this housing sector, metal domes for Glamping domes.

Fdomes:

Fdomes was born in 2016 as the Glamping range of the company Freedomes, which had been manufacturing and renting geodesic domes for events since 2008.

Today Freedomes no longer manufactures or rents geodesic domes for events, with Fdomes being the active business line of the company.

The Fdomes range of Glamping domes are geodesic domes made of metal structure and with sizes ranging from 5m in diameter up to 9.5m of its largest glamping dome.

Freedomes in the last decade became one of the most prolific manufacturers and suppliers of geodesic domes in Europe by manufacturing domes of a more than correct quality at a very competitive price, differentiating itself from other Polish manufacturers much cheaper but with lower qualities.

When we talk about China, we are talking about the factory of the world, and although the quality of Chinese products has improved greatly in recent decades, when it comes to products of high value or elements that require a certain confidence in their safety, Chinese products are viewed with some suspicion.

There are many companies that manufacture geodesic domes in China, and there is even a large market in Middle Eastern countries, where the installation of Chinese geodesic domes has multiplied in recent years.

Not all Chinese companies that manufacture geodesic domes are reliable companies, in fact, there are numerous cases of dome collapses in which it has been observed a posteriori that the weight of the structures did not coincide with the supposed weight of the structure, as they had less interior thickness and therefore less rigidity.
