Without a doubt this is one of the projects in which we have had to be most careful when installing a geodesic dome.
In one of the main interior rooms of the Naval Museum of Madrid, the last thing the public expects to find is a geodesic dome 11 m in diameter.
Surrounded by canoes and bow masks, the assembly of the geodesic dome in the Naval Museum of Madrid was undoubtedly an experience.
We were the first. Magallanes, Elcano and the round the world tour
The exhibition opens its doors to the public on 20 September 2019 at the Naval Museum in Madrid.
The King inaugurated today September 19 the exhibition at the Naval Museum in Madrid that claims the heroes who starred in the first round the world tour, led by Fernando de Magallanes and Juan Sebastian Elcano.
An exhibition entitled ‘We were the first. Magallanes, Elcano and the round the world tour’ and that has been organized in the framework of the commemorative acts of the 500 anniversary of the first circumnavigation.
In a total of 1,100 square metres, 89 pieces from 23 national and foreign institutions are exhibited, many of them dating from the 16th century.
Along the rooms are exhibited, among other documents and maps, ‘The letter of the Moluccas’ or the ‘Planisferio Salviati’, a world map that shows how the Spanish Crown saw the world in 1525.
A bust of a young Carlos I, the scale reproduction of the nao ‘Victoria’ (the only one that completed the feat) after meticulous research into its construction, canyons of the time, videos and paintings have also been compiled for this occasion.
The hundred pieces are distributed in five exhibition spaces:

5. Consequences: a new world
